Roger B Rueda
is the author of the books, 'A Plain and Practically Lucid English Grammar' (CentralBooks, 2009) and 'Paolo: A Novel' (AntBooks, 2011) . He's currently working on another novel titled, 'The Professors' (AntBooks, 2012) and a grammar 'Understanding & Using Hiligaynon Grammar' (Centralbooks, 2012). A book, 'Vocabulary Workshop' (AntBooks) and a book 'Solitude:Poems' (CentralBooks)are going to be out early in 2012. (The characters in his novels and short stories are strictly fictional, but all reflect the multitude of interesting people he has met over the years. When not teaching, writing fiction, both novels and short stories, has become the most fulfilling of pastimes. Also, he takes pleasure in drinking tea or coffee, playing duckpins, and eating ice cream.) His poems, short stories, and essays have appeared in publications that include The Sunday Times Magazine, Philippine Panorama, Home Life, Hiligaynon, NCCA Mantala, Files, The Antithesis Collective, and Philippines Graphic. He received writer's fellowships from the U. P. Institute of Creative Writing (in 2002, poetry) and Mindanao State University (in 2005, fiction). He's editor for the magazines Ripe and 8finity.
